Write a brief the builder can use

What to put in a website brief so the first draft is close to what you want.

Step by step

Say who the site is for
Name the business and the people it serves, for example a family bakery for customers ordering celebration cakes.
List the pages
Name each page you need, such as home, menu, opening hours and contact. Fewer pages give each one more attention.
Give the facts
Include the details the site must state correctly: prices, addresses, hours and phone numbers.
Describe the tone
Say how it should read, for example warm and plain, and anything it should avoid.
